Looking for a Team Advisor/Mentor

1 Attachment(s)
We have an active team here at The Buckley School, an independent school in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, and we're in need of a Team Advisor/Mentor. I’m looking for advice/counsel on how best to find someone for our team for the 08-09 school year and the ‘09 competition. We’re in the enviable position of being able to actually pay someone for this work. The team meets 3:30-5:30 M-F during the build period, so our parents can’t take this on. Of course they meet weekends too during crunch time. The position posting is attached and is also available on our website www.buckleyla.org.

Thanks for any suggestions!
Dave Carter,
Director of Human Resources
The Buckley School

One suggestion is to contact the FIRST Regional Director and Assistant RD for Southern CA. http://www.usfirst.org/regionalcontact.aspx
There is also a Senior Mentor in S. Calif, but her contact information is not posted. frcteams@usfirst.org or the RD/ARD would have her contact.

Re: Looking for a Team Advisor/Mentor

Your team has many FRC teams in your proximity that are interested in mentoring. I would start by asking the teams in your area if they have any mentors that would like the job opening.

From my mapping skills, your school is FRC #1661 and I provided a snapshot of teams in your area. If you want to find contact info on the teams go to http://mentorsearch.us

The Regional Directors are busy people, so you might not always get a fast response...
