When everything is ready, I would like to ship 2009 control systems out to teams who have paid their 2009 registration fee and who agree to pick up the additional shipping costs. Cross your fingers, right now it looks like the stars might align in late November.

128 days until Kickoff! See you then.

Late November gets into holidays and end of school exams. I hope FIRST can move that date to early November.

I encourage all teams to setup their Workshops for learning Labview before that time. Teams will benefit tremendously if they program Labview and test out code on Lego NXT robotics system.

Anyone have an idea of how much the "extra shipping cost" will be?

Does it really matter? Even if it was $150 think of the value you are getting by being able to play with the control system for an extra month.

I am wondering if FIRST has to have the complete registration money or just a promise letter by then. Also how will they keep track of who got one and who didn't for teams at remote kickoffs?

The controller usually comes in a seperate card board box. So FIRST could just send the remote kickoff coordiantors a list of teams that have already received the controllers and not give them an extra box. That's just my guess of course.

True, just wondering though. Hopefully they have some sort of system for this by now or are creating one.

While I agree, that using NXT and learning Labview will be helpful, has anyone heard, read or seen any new information with regards to Windriver/WPI C/C++ environment?

I wonder if we can order an additional control system if everything will be ready and teams can already get them early, once registration is paid.
