Cool map...
I think you have the NY site on there twice...

It is interesting to see how good a job the selectors did in terms of spreading out the opportunity across the country.

I know some individual teams feel pretty left out ..

but I don't think anyone can complain too much about the spread...

Everyone will really need and make sure the Hawaiian teams get all the information that is available.

thanks for the map!!!

Zoom in a bit. That's actually Canada, in the form of 1114, and Rochester, NY's team 340.

Also, a similar map was posted in the thread on the beta test/applications/teams.

*SIGH*
No one within 6 hours of us :(

Congratulations to all that got the beta units. Keep us up to date on all the little quirks that come up.

No new control system love for New England at all. :(
Kind of surprising & dissapointing to be perfectly honest.

I'm not sure why people keep saying that. If I understand correctly, team 190 has had access to the new system for over a year. Seems like New England teams who want to have a look should get in touch with them.

That and I'm wondering if FIRST is going to be doing something in the way of training directly...haven't heard anything official any way, just the random thoughts of a FIRST-obsessed mind... ;)

It's true that there aren't any beta teams in the New England area - the idea was that there were so many people working on it up here that there could be adequate coverage for training.

I did a talk about the new control system yesterday along with an NI field engineer at Textron in Massachusetts for a group of mentors. I'm repeating the talk in NH and CT over the next 4 weeks. We are also trying to set up something in our studio at WPI that can be videotaped and put online.

The schedule is:
Oct 4 - CT Mentor Recognition Day in Wolcott, CT
Oct 11 - Pembroke HS, Pembroke, NH
Oct 18 - Bash at the Beach

I've been talking in depth about the capabilities of the new control system, how to program it, and a little show and tell with a few systems.

Here in Old Lyme, we are looking forward to hosting Brad at BASH. Everyone, this is open to all teams, regardless whether or not you are competing at BASH. We are also hosting a NEMO talk (thank you, KathieK!).

Come and enjoy Fall in Old Lyme on October 18!

And a very good talk it was, Brad. Thanks for giving the talk twice! I think you'll give Dave Lavery a run for the money in talking speed, the sign of a good engineer.

We don't need a Beta Team in New England -- we have the WPI Alpha Team working on the controller!
