Oh man, I am so jealous!!!! I guess on my own down here, with gas still radiating towards $3.00!!!!
I can't wait to make the trip though!

And just so everyone knows - I'm going by myself, so, if I look tired, it's because I am! lol

It's gonna rock, though! :D
I already missed Mayhem this year, can't afford to miss something else! lol

Yeah. It's pretty much the only way to get there. Be careful though, mind all the turns. I was on 75 last month and there was random construction projects!
I'm going tomorrow though. But, things can change in less then 24 hours, though.
Have a safe trip! :)

Are there enough projects on I-75 to make someone coming from north of Jacksonville want to stay on I-95 instead and get there via Orlando? Google Maps says it only adds 31 miles and 17 minutes--but if I'm gonna be caught up in any heavy construction traffic, the diversion would be worth it.

I'll be iPhoning it after this post--hooray, GPS!

No, there aren't that many major projects. But if it rains like the forecast I saw then it could be bad. But, I wouldn't worry too much. Just be careful of uneven lanes. No matter what the weather. :)

:D
thanks well ill see you guys on saturday

oh and do most teams stay the night? the reason we dident was because we are right in eustis and it wouldent be that hard to come down highawy 19 to 50 to 75 so we are leaving at or before 6am depending on when everyone gets in the cars.

oh and 4 people in a honda civic for 2 hours is not fun

I'll be there volunteering! This will be my first TNT, so I'm really excited about it. See you all there! :]

I regret to inform that I will not be able to make it down to TNT due to Delta airlines who I now have no intention of ever doing business with again (having then cost you $300 will do that).
I was really looking forward to being there too.

That's OK Ed.
Your presence would be appreciated, but budgets are an issue to everybody.Nobody holds you at fault. We all feel the pinch.

Good luck to all the teams. I know 1523 is there and possibly 1889 thanks to the Holmquist family.

Yeah but the airlines making a mistake shouldn't be the ones pinching you.
They were already paid and I did not get to make the trip and I'm not going to get my money back.

I had a blast at TNT last year and am pretty disappointed that I couldn't make it up again this year...that darn ACT

I'm sure everyone is having a great time, it should be the peak of "Fun Time" about now...

Thank goodness there will be a webcast so I can hopefully catch a few matches in between the ACT and work :)

I dont know but 1557 got the #5 seed

Re: Tempest 'N Tampa 2008

801 was the number one seed, though I'm not sure who won in the end.

I can say for a fact that 12 Volt Bolt had a great time and TNT this year and we look forward to coming back more in the future :)

Re: Tempest 'N Tampa 2008

Well, I just called one of the mentors from 1902, Sarah Plemmons, and she told me the winning alliance. She also sounded like there are some terrific stories to be shared.

But - this is what she said as far as the winning alliance. If I get this wrong, you guys can yell at me later. :)

Winning alliance:
233, 744, and 1999

They competed against:
801, 79, 2425

It went to 4 matches to determine the winner:
Red Alliance won, then Blue, then tie, then Blue Alliance won.

Sounds like a blast! Also, sounds like the rookie teams who participated had a great time.
