Team 2429 had a blast this year! It's only our second year, and we weren't really expecting to get into the finals, much less be a picking team! Thank you 1138 and 1047 for working with us, we had a blast with you guys even if we didn't make it past the quarterfinals.

Did anyone at the regional get the video? If so, can someone possibly upload the finals and or the awards ceremony? Thanks ;)

btw, thanks for finding the snips :)

Yeah, we had so much bad luck. Our alliance put the super cell in our trailor, a couple of our guys wired a battery backwards (still don't know how someone can be so stupid and color blind at the same time), our turret falls off during the last match due to a freshman loosening the turret instead of tightening it. Oh well, thanks squirrel for letting us borrow those snips. Sorry team 4 for letting you guys down and you guys were awesome people and we hope to see you guys next year. LA was one of my favorite regionals i have ever went to. BTW, EricH, it was really nice seeing you and it was fun talking to you. Hope to see some of the LA teams at Davis.

SHIFT HAPPENS!

Team 980 had a blast.

Thanks to the BeachBots (330) and NERDS (1726) for inviting us to the elims. The semis and finals were some of the closest and hardest fought matches I recall at the LA regional. The margin of victory was really low for the late matches (a tie and four matches decided by 2 or less moonrocks). The number 1 alliance was knocked out in the semis and the finals went to a rubber match for the win by the number 5 alliance.

More thanks to all the volunteers, staff and teams for making this year's regional a fun, exciting event in a new venue.

Hey, Michael Montazeri, thanks for the congratulations, but the truth is we would be lost without the help of your old team, 1138 and I would have been lost last year without your help. Programming this year involved an entirely new control system and programming laguage but we were able to figure it out thanks to your help last year. Thanks for all your help man and a big thanks to Team 1138, Eagle Engineering from Chaminade!

Also, I want to give a huge thanks to Team 207 and 973 for picking us as their third alliance member. I thought we made a great team. I was the robot shooter for team 2659 during the quarter finals through the finals and the alliance spirit on the field was amazing! Thanks so much for the pick, we owe you guys. By the way, both of your robots were amazing both in looks and functionality and I think our robots complimented each other's strengths and weaknesses very nicely. See you guys at nationals in Atlanta!

Our entire team is extremely happy for you guys. You just keep getting better and it's pretty amazing that you not only made it to the finals for two years, but that you won. Good luck in Atlanta! If you need any help just find our pit.

Well .. time to throw my 2 cents in here :)

It was nice to see all the usual suspects down in LA again. All the 330 guys volunteering on the field and in the pits .. David from 980 (who I always seem to run into everywhere at FRC events) .. and of course our friends from north county .. GRR 973. It's been awhile since we were at the same regional, and this one didn't disappoint.

Playing back to back regionals was pretty tough, although we were still pumped up from our 2nd seed and finalist finish last weekend in SD. In 6 years, we've never seeded 1st or 2nd, let alone in the same season. 399 and 1671, you guys were great to play with. Those semi matches against 207, 973 and 2659 were the best matches I've seen this year, and probably some of the best matches I've seen in my history with FIRST. First the tie, then the next 2 matches with only a few points of separation - that's how it should be.

Also, thanks to all of you who came over to see the Gyro - it's something we worked hard on this year, and are very proud to be one of the teams that accomplished the task. We were really hoping to take it to Atlanta to show it to everyone else, but it just didn't seem to turn out that way. Sorry for all of you who were hoping to see it there - if you have questions or want more information on it, please PM me.

And thanks (and congratulations) to everyone else there. We all know that the California regionals are the best in FIRST .. and it's because of you guys. We'll see ya next year!

I recorded the field feed of all the qualification and elimination matches, and both award ceremonies. Hopefully in the next few days (depending on work), I'll be able to get them off the DVR and up on Youtube and TBA. I haven't had a chance yet to check out the videos. If you have anything specific you were looking for, PM me.

399, I will have nightmares of you filling my trailer in 3 seconds. I'm not sure how the Wizard of Oz could seem so scary, even if its just the Tinman!

We had a great time at the LA Regional, and it was our first ever competition, yay rookies! The comeradery was amazing, and everyone was so helpful to each other. We also learned ALOT about the whole scouting concept.....we didn't even know it existed until we got there.

Teams that I enjoyed working with would be 1717 and 4. The 3 of us were allianced on Friday, and we dominated. I'm hoping our team can get to the caliber of 1717 one day.......that was an awesome bot!

We ended up winning the Rookie All Star award, so we are invited to Atlanta if we can get that $5,000 dollars......

I posted this in a different thread, but though it was appropriate to re-post here...

For those interested, I took a video of Team 1717 during their practice in the pit.
(I hope you guys don't mind that I posted this. I was definitely impressed by your drive system and had to show some colleagues of mine)

Thank you very much, that match we played stands out in my memory as a superb example of teamwork. I remember our driver showing me in a video of the match when you guys knocked off a robot going to pin us, it was a wonderful play.

Good luck going to Atlanta, where there is a will, there is a way. It would be great to see you there, provided we go also.
