Oct. 17 Labview Training for Maryland/DC area FRC teams
Current and potential FIRST Mentors, Students and Teachers,
As you have likely heard, the LabVIEW Application Development environment will be a programming option for all FIRST competitions starting in 2009. On Friday, October 17th, Several National Instruments Field Engineers will be conducting a LabVIEW hands-on intro session for FIRST teams at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel MD. The focus will be on LabVIEW fundamentals- the FRC controllers with custom libraries are not widely available at this time, and will not be used in the session. Some of the hands-on exercises will use your PC sound card as an input device; others will use a Lego Mindstorms NXT robot to provide the experience of programming a mechanical system with LabVIEW. If you have a NXT kit available, you will be asked to build and bring the robot ahead of time. You will need to supply your own laptop. The attendance limit is 120. Please limit you're team's attendance to 6 so that we can accommodate more teams. Once you have registered, make sure to follow ALL preparation instructions. Start this process early, as some of the downloads and installs are lengthy.
