Looking for Footage of 2007 WMR.
 

Apparently our team had a bag that had a bunch of tapes with various matches from our 2007 season, however this bag was stolen on one of our trips (for the second time ironically, didn't get it back this time). So, this leaves us with no record of the WMR event from that year.

Our team is currently in the process of trying to create a video documenting it's history, and so we are looking to see if anyone still might have a copy of any of the matches (particularly the Quarter Finals - Finals) from the 2007 WMR that they wouldn't mind sharing, lending, or emailing/sending electronically to us. This event was very important to us, as it was the first (and only) official regional our team has ever won in.

Doesn't have to be anything fancy, we're not looking for "fieldcam" footage (Though it would be nice), anything will do really.

Uh. I'm not to sure what the WMR is. But i'm sure there is a way to download videos off thebluealliance.net .

Not if there aren't any videos of the West Michigan Regional on TBA. Yes, you can download videos from TBA... if they are on it.

Believe me, TBA was the first place I looked for them, and nothing (For 2007 anyways). And as Eric said, WMR is the West Michigan Regional. ;)

I have it on DVD and I coulda swore I put it up on http://firstvideoarchive.com/2007Archive/ but its not there. I will get it uploaded little at a time if you need the whole thing?

Wow, well we're particularly interested in the matches our team was in during the quaterfinals-finals, but nothing in particular out of them. There is one match from the elims I'm particularly interested in catching but I couldn't tell you which one it is (been too long).

By whole thing do you mean the entire event? It would be awesome if that were the case! :yikes:

WMR 2007 used to be on TBA. It was missing a couple matches, but I could have sworn most were there. Now there are none. Weird, maybe my memory sucks.

I distinctly remember being shoved around by 703. It was like we were glued to your bumper.

Heh, yeah that was a great year for us. I can't recall if I ever saw them on TBA, though I may not have looked before the disappeared (I seem to recall there were quite a few files lost a while back).

I will locate the DVDs I know I have them but for now all I know is that they're large 4GB files. My local server here at home crashed a few months ago and I believe many of the 2007 files were on it.

Personally I liked your 2006 machine the best. It is still one of my favorite machines from that year, and your Driver would hit the ramp at will. I think I only saw it tip once.

Your 2007 machine though supposedly looked really cool when looking at the field through a thermal camera. It left heat rainbows in the carpet from our sliding wheels as you pushed us across the floor.

Yeah, that was a great robot we had in 06 too, it sorta reminded me of this years in the sense that when it worked, it was very strong, though it had it's share of problems (far less than the ones we had this year though).

The 07 robot I think would have been much better if we had given it some offensive capabilities, especially due to the overall lack of technical issues we had with it. We had a grabbing arm build and ready to go for it but we never had the time or weight to attach it.
Whatever the case, its like they say, there's always next year. :cool:

I seem to recall someone else from 469 mention the thermal camera thing too. If anyone got a picture of that I'd love to see it. I remember seeing the device on display as we were in line for our matches, was kinda neat to see all the hot-spots on the robot. :rolleyes:

I found 1 DVD but doesn't want to read right so I have to pop it into the recorder and check it. I am still missing the other 4 disks.

I remember your teams robot that year, the one with the two stage ramp that was like a small angle when down, but like a 45 degree angle when up.

I seem to recall an incident on the practice field where we were testing your ramps with your team and someone said that there was no way any robot could get up the ramp when it was up (and only the sharp angle was available). Then we just drove up it anyways and landed perfectly. :D

I am currently uplading a 2 GB video file of the finals from the 2007 west Michigan Regional. Should be ready shortly.

If you'd like some help with that, I'd be more than happy to assist, I've got a bit of free time and am going to be breaking up the video for my own usage anyways, so if it helps at all I could do some of them too. :)
