Re: 2009 Midwest Regional

This should be a very competitive regional as always.
See you in 1.6 days.

Don't be surprised when you see 2022... :yikes:

Will there be a webcast?

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Overdrive MWR last year. Those great teams make it look like a week 4 or 5 regional instead of week #1!

I think the webcast will be on this link:

Has anyone heard or know if the web cast will be working this weekend?

I heard WildStang (111) needed a seperate network drop to web cast the event.

Hope they get it working.

Exactly how scary is 71?

So... where is the annual first day of 71's regional picture?

From what I have heard, 111 and 71 have rather similar robots. They do face each other in a match tomorrow so that should be interesting. It would be nice to see a photo though...

Re: 2009 Midwest Regional

The only team that looked truly "scary" in practice was 1625. They were dumping full hopper loads of balls at will and moving effortlessly. Of course this all could change tomorrow but so far they look great. 111, 71, 217, and 1114 all look good, but not as devastating as everyone seemed to think they would be. This looks like a very difficult game for one robot to take over the whole thing.

[quote=hill;818495]One of the most stacked regionals I've ever seen. One of the toughest regionals this year if not the toughest. QUOTE]

I agree that this maybe the toughest regional this year, but last years Great Lakes Regional was probably stacked in the way of Champion ship results. If I can remember the numbers right, 12-16 teams had won the national divison, einstien finals, or overall champions.

Re: 2009 Midwest Regional

With a match schedule like that my guess is that 71, 111, 217, 1625 and 1114 should all be in the top 8 without even breaking a sweat. I can only find one match where 71 goes against 111 and other than that they never meet. I wont be surprised if 4 of these teams end Qual's with perfect records.

Of course there's always room for a 1-3 year teem to cause an upset.

Should be an interesting regional.
