Congratulations to 111, 1625, and 1675! 111 you came so close last year and I was beyond thrilled to see you take the whole thing this year!

Congrats also to teams 1732, 2041 & 1652! 1732, you've been one of my "watch 'em" teams since you were rookies! 2041, between last year and this, you've shown you're a force to be reckoned with! And 1652, for a team that had not been on my radar in the past, I'll be watching you guys from now on!

1114, you guys put up some serious numbers all weekend and were great fun to watch. I know that we'll watch you at Toronto, new and improved and ready to take home the gold there!

Raul, you've been one of the mentors who has inspired me for years now, and I am beyond thrilled to see you will Woodie Flowers. I would love to see you go on and take the Championship title as well!

And Dave Flowerday, thank you a million times over for webcasting the event. I have a midterm Monday and could not get down to Chicago to see, so I was thrilled that I could still watch. You were phenomenal at fixing the webcast every time it fluked, thank you thank you, thank you!

Did anyone else notice how good team 2022's human player was? She scored like 5 super cells in elims. Not to mention the 40 footer she landed in 1625 as time expired.

Special thanks to 111 and 1625 for making an amazing alliance.

We were making comments about that in the stands. I was just amazed at that 40 footer!

That shot was amazing. I am still amazed that our robot was able to push Wildstang around. We have a 1 CIM drivebase, they have a 4 CIM drivebase with active traction control.

You guys definately made wildstangs life a little tougher. That third match between us was the most nervous I've been in a while.

That third match was really a great match between our alliances.

I have some video from down by the field- I have to see if the quality's any good, but if it is I'll post here. Those matches were really intense & IRS has a brilliant human player! :ahh:

Midwest was an absolutely amazing regional as usual. THANK YOU 111 & 1625. Winnovation it was a pleasure to work with you again & we will see you in Milwaukee! It was a blast cheering with everyone in the stands as we watched the matches, I think I lost my voice & thank you mascots for all the dancing.

Congratulations to all the teams at the event, I can't wait to see how the other regionals turn out! Good luck to all- thank you for an awesome regional. :D

Awesome, fast paced, GREAT gameplay by Ultimate WinnoStang! Looks like my money was on the right alliance! :yikes:

Thank you guys for showing me this game CAN be just as exciting as last year's game. I was worried until the finals matches proved me wrong. I was literally on the edge of my seat. (and off of it jumping up and cheering :D)

And thanks to all teams for doing an awesome job competing. I brought two of my friends up with me this weekend who have never seen a FRC competition before, you really showed them a good time. They want to be mentors now! Way to go! :ahh:

To 1024: I wish you best of luck getting the kinks worked out of the robot. As always, my inbox is always open if there's anything I might be able to (remotely) help out with.

And to everyone from MWR I didn't get to say hi to, Hi! :]

It's generally a good idea to put money on an alliance where "stang" is part of the name..

Going into the midwest regional this year, I was thinking it would be hard to top the experience we had last year. That perception changed by day one. It was a pleasure finally getting to meet so many of the people behind the local teams and those coming from afar. Its sad that the weekend flew by as fast as it did.

Congrats teams 111 1625 & 1675. It was good to see the more local teams defending their home turf this year :) .

1732: Thanks for having us on your alliance. Your team first showed up on my radar after its performance at midwest in 2007. When I saw your team listed among those attending the regional, I knew you were a team to watch out for. It was great working with you guys.

1652; Thanks for rounding out this truly special alliance. It was really fun discussing our strategy with you guys. I am looking forward to seeing how your team develops and I hope you will make the trip down to MWR next year.

Pops, congrats once again on your regional WFA. You are the one who got me into FIRST and have always served as a model on how to guide my team.

Re: 2009 Midwest Regional

My GOD, what an amazing regional this year!

Congrats to Wildstang, Winnovation, and UPS...you guys had some great robots and deserved to win. Also, thanks for the competitive matches in the Semi-Finals. We had a lot of fun beating you guys for that one match (weren't you suprised???)

Thanks to the ThunderChickens and the all girls rookie team for being a great alliance. We enjoyed partnering up with you guys and being the only alliance to best Wildstang, winnovation, and UPS for one match. :-)

Congrats to Raul for the WFFA!

Thanks to team 1114 for helping us with our autonomous. It's a shame you guys didn't make it farther in the elims.

Finally, Thanks to all the members of team 2022. We had every piece of bad luck thrown at us this weekend and we still managed to pull through with an awesome bot. Especially congrats to our payload specialist, Ashley. You really kept us alive several times out there and have earned a years supply of Jamba Juice!

Our bot is completely ready for the Milwaukee Regional now. So for those of you who are going to be there, BEWARE, because IRS 2022 is coming for you!!!

2022 is not a force to be reckoned with....

You're close, but not quite correct. At IRI in 2006, everyone thought that the alliance of 25, 1114, and 33 was going to win it all. In an epic semi-final round, 71, 1625, and 910 took down the giants. I think it was the first time at IRI that Beatty was the crowd favorite; I remember the entire crowd rooting for the local alliance to beat the 'outsiders.'

For all the hype surrounding 71, 111, 217, and 1114 at the Midwest regional, I believe the best performing robot at the event was 1625. The other teams may make some improvements or get more practice, but the star at MWR was Winnovation. They've turned into a regional power and will hopefully become better known across the country; they have consistently turned out amazing robots the past few years.

And holy cow, what was with the HP from 2022? Her ability to score super cells single-handedly changed our strategy for the last 30 seconds of each sem-finals match.
