How could we have forgotten Koko Ed?!?!

Finished Friday morning only a few minutes behind. We choose an aggressive schedule to give all the teams 9 matches, but it looks like we'll be able to pull it off.

So far the high score of the day is 119 by Teams 168, 79, 2383.

Other than a on our own alliance scoring 20 points in our trailer, this has been a very smooth regional. There's way too much room for human intervention and error in this game

I put together all of Bongle's DPR, OPR and PMR stats for anyone who is interested for scouting/ picking etc. Disclaimer..none of this is my work, it is all Bongle's, I just stuck in in list form. So here you go.

A high OPR might indicate:
-A robot that is very effective at getting balls into enemy trailers
-A HP that is very effective at getting balls into enemy trailers
-A robot that does the grunt-work at supplying empty cells so that its alliance can always score a couple super-cells
-Any robot that just 'greases the wheels' of its alliance, resulting in higher scores

A low OPR (yes, it can even be negative) might indicate:
-An otherwise good robot that takes a lot of penalties
-A robot that simply doesn't score much
-A robot impedes its alliance-partner's progress at scoring

Re: 2009 Florida Regional

Don't know if it was said yet, but the launch (if my sources - i.e. Barry - are correct) is to happen Sunday now. And yes, we are on NASA tv!!!! wo0t!
/subject change/ My mom keeps calling to ask, oh is that you!? Right when the match is ending and I have to reset the field..... le sigh.
/subject change/ In other news, I already have about 250 photos from the regional, and will be posting them on Facebook (if anyone cares to know).
/subject change/ I stand by my question from before though. (Please no one be offended by this) Is it that hard of a concept that, if you are on the Blue Alliance, that you would hook up to a blue trailer? (/subject change I'm calling them modules because it sounds more like a space term/object)
/subject change/ Is this happening to any other field resetters: I see orbit balls when I close my eyes.....
Okay, I'm done with my random thoughts for today.
I will be off to help the Philadelphia Regional, now (well, figuratively because I can't afford that trip right now).
:D

Even though I was a volunteer too, I would like to thank all of the other volunteers for helping pull this off. The regional seemed much grander than before. Many good memories were made.
Congrats to 233, 179, and 1649 as well - you guys were GREAT!
Also, I would really like to thank the Plemmons family for putting up with me for almost a week! You guys are great (as well as other Bacon families) and well, all of Exploding Bacon actually, is awesome.
This may very well be my last Florida Regional but, it was a great one, and I will never forget it. :D
Thanks everyone!

um... so i guess 1649 didnt do anything then...

1649 (EMS) has an outstanding robot and put up some incredible scores. Without them their alliance wouldn't have made it out of the quarters.

Congrats 179, 1649 and 233. The Finals were amazing. 744, 79 and 1251 you all put up one heck of a fight.

Good luck to all in future regionals and I hope to see you in ATL
