This should be an interesting event with the variety of teams that are signed up!

CT sounds like it will be great this year (& even louder than ever!) :D :ahh:

I am sure that they will have quite a bit to show us. Do a little research and you will see what some of the teams coming to this have to offer. I can think of a few that i wouldn't mind being paired with.:) Not saying that we wont have anything to show you though :)

If you're planning to volunteer at the Connecticut Regional, please register in VIMS soon! Our Volunteer Coordinators are starting to look at VIMS to see who is coming to volunteer in Hartford... :D

The most convenient place (albeit, a bit pricey relatively speaking) is the Marriot right next door:
http://www.ctconventions.com/visitors/lodging.php

In that picture, the Convention Center is on the right of the picture behind the Marriot.
I stayed there last year, & it was a 5 minute walk down elevators/stairs from my hotel room to the pits.
With that luxury comes a bit of a price jump from other surrounding hotels ( I would have to assume) but it's worth it imho.
(Parking in the garage right next door is a bit pricey as well so be warned.)

I may actually stay there again this year since I hate waking up early in the morning & I live about an hour away from Hartford. :yikes:

I hope i can go... hopefully there aren't any exams on that Friday for me!

CT regional is the best of all of them.
(the fact that i haven't been to any others doesn't sway that opinion at all, btw)

I'm super excited for my first time volunteering at an FRC event! I'm really looking forward to seeing my home regional from the other direction. Build some awesome robots!

I wasn't able to go to that this year, & need my Monty Madness chocolate fix. lol

Unfortunately we didnt have any last year. :( The price for the candy to be made has gone too high. I hope it goes down soon. Cause that chocolate was so godly. I so hope we have it this year.

We are staying like 10 mins away at Fairfield Inn and Suites in Manchester, Connecticut. Our mentor was said that it was cheaper to be 10 mins out rather then being in Hartford itself.

Re: 2009 Connecticut Regional

Has anyone ever used the public transportation system from BDL to get to the convention center area?

I also read something about a free shuttle that makes the rounds in the area of the convention center with stops near several hotels included. Is that system sufficient to provide transportation for teams during rush hour? Can anyone tell me how long it it takes the shuttle to make the loop?

Just curious...an option 1902 might consider to save on travel expenses and to be green!

Sarah
