[FTC]: FTC Ramp Question
Ok so I have to say I'm a cheif delphi virgin :o and my team had some questions.
We were wondering if at the end of the round do you have to be on your own ramp or can you be on you opponents ramp to get the extra 10 points? |
Re: [FTC]: FTC Ramp Question
As I understand it, you can be on either ramp, I was very glad to see this added.

Re: [FTC]: FTC Ramp Question
As I understand it, you simply have to be off the field. For the purpose of the game this year, the wall is considered off the field. So if you pick yourself up using the wall then you get the points (if you choose to use this strategy then you may want to have the relevant parts of the rulebook ready in case you have to argue with the referees). I'm not sure if this means that you can simply vault the wall and get the points this way. I'm pretty sure if you vault the wall you would not be allowed to get/put your robot back in play.

I recommend you ask for and get an official answer to any questions you may have, or if you want to try an exotic strategy that gets into any gray zones (like hooking onto a wall). Blake |

Re: [FTC]: FTC Ramp Question
Being out of the field is not a bad thing, in either instance. Of course you will be disabled, but imagine, if there's ten seconds left, you jump off the field after climbing onto a ramp. You are disabled, but that allows for your partner team to jump on the ramp. And both robots qualify for the 10 points.
My question is that can a team be disqualified after a number of disables? Kinda like the 3 strikes ur out rule? |
