If you have any questions please contact us at frcteams@usfirst.org President's Circle Deadline Extended to December 1, 2008 As announced at the 2008 FIRST Championship, President Paul R. Gudonis has invited FIRST teams to apply for the 2008/09 President's Circle by submitting video ads that persuade other young people to start a FIRST team. The President’s Circle unleashes the power, energy, and creativity of FIRST teams to recruit new teams. FIRST teams are incredibly powerful in the way they inspire others to celebrate science and technology and to get in the game with them. We’d like to see more of that, so Paul has created the President’s Circle to seek, showcase, and recognize the creative and technology skills of our teams. The 2008/09 challenge is to create an outstanding video ad and share it with Paul via YouTube. Videos should include compelling messages about your FIRST experience and creative use of technology. If you have not already done so, check out the details and submission guidelines on the FIRST website at http://www.usfirst.org/community/frc/content.aspx?id=9166. Recognizing that this is a very busy time for FIRST teams, the submission deadline for this opportunity has been extended to December 1, 2008. NASA Opportunity for 9th to 12th Grade Students NASA is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the Interdisciplinary National Science Program Incorporating Research and Education Experience (INSPIRE) online community for high-school students. The community provides NASA-related resources and educational activities and allows for students to interact with other students, ask questions, and share knowledge. Once selected, students may compete for unique grade-appropriate summer experiences ranging from a one-day VIP tour and workshops to a two-week on-campus collegiate experience or paid summer internships. The application deadline is December 31, 2008. For more information or to apply, visit http://www.nasa.gov/education/INSPIRE. Go Teams! |
