Second-Year Teams to Watch Out For 2008- '09

So we all know of the second year teams that were great in Overdrive this year, but what about a list of teams to really watch out for at 2009 regionals?

I want to know which second year teams you will be looking out for (teams who were rookies in Overdrive) at your regional.
  • For NJ definitely watch out for 2590- Nemesis- Not only did they lead us to the finals here but they are a highly organized team that is capable of building very good robots in the future.
  • For MD (Chesapeake) make sure you watch your back when playing against 2377- C Company- these guys are like seasoned veterans! Seriously one of the coolest rookies I saw all year
  • For NYC watch out for 2344- Saunders Droid Factory- Their design was like 121 but I wish their drivers were a little better.
  • Also in NYC I'm crossing my fingers for a team that has proven to MORT to have HUGE potential. I really believe in these guys wil do well in the coming seasons-2554- The War Hawks
Let the list begin!:D BTW I only want to see selections based on ROBOT PERFORMANCE.

I seem to have succeeded in avoiding a lot of rookie contact this season for some reason, but C Company is definitely not one to be trifled with. If you covered up the numbers, you would swear that they had done FRC for years. The robot looked sharp, ran great (not that I know anything about that), and was backed by a great group of people. I'd play with them any day. (Now, how to drag them to Palmetto...)

2337 EngiNERDs out of Grand Blanc, MI - they were in the playoffs in all their events last year - Detroit, W Mich and Curie.

I was also impressed by a similar number, 2377, at IRI.

2659 was great at the Los Angeles Regional. They were the best lap robot there, #9 seed, #7 alliance captain, and led an alliance of 2 lap robots and 1 hurdler to the finals.

I also third 2377 based on what I saw at IRI.

I'll second this one. Talk about a rookie-sensation. Everyone loves that robot.

Third for the Enginerds, very well run team. Look out for these guys, they will be smashing next year. (I apologize for that joke I really do)

Another second year out of the Rookie Regional, The Red Tails (2591?) Very passionate team. Made a real showing and in my opinion performed on the level of many older teams.

I would look out for the Wiredcats at Peachtree. They had an excellent 1st year.

2551

Second seed and finalists at Davis.

I'm looking forward to a match between D'penguineers and the Penguin Empire.

Perhaps allied with The WildHats, The Wildcats, and The Wildcats...

Davis will be confusing this year...

I was greatly impressed by 2344 at NYC last year- their design was good for sure, but did they not also host an off-season event this past year? I smell a NYC chairman's award in their future...

Not only was Team 2645 the Number 1 Seed at Traverse, but they also won the district competition.

They were the only team to go 10-2 in the seeding matches at Traverse.
