i think first should design a game with more interaction between teams, like you have to score on the other alliances robots somehow

I want to see students operating robots with their minds. Check out these two links before you poo-poo the idea.

I like the cooperative type of game, especially with the new networking capabilities of this years control system. Imagine if the robots had to communicate information to the other robots on their team concerning track conditions or something of that nature. Even better if they had to discover who was on their team and act without the other alliance discovering them (that might be tough to do :yikes: )

What if they had teams had a round where teams would swap robots and use the other teams robots! It's definitely not unrealistic, but the other team might be mad if you damaged their robot!

a game that is simple, easily scored, interesting to play and with a minimal amount of referee decisions and petty rules.....

As for outside-the-box, I'll go with "house" robots that only get in the way, or that you have to score on. Preferably the latter, as the former has already been done.

I've got it! I've got it! We can replace the referees with...

:)

P.S.: I know that picture is a bit big... is there any way to resize them on this forum?

Forget the water and flying monkeys! lets play in a huge batch of corn!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-m1Q...eature=related

...maybe we can have our robots pick up the corn and have to turn it into ethanol in the process of playing the game. That way we can get rid of our bulky batteries, and put combustible materials on the field!
(...i'm pretty sure ethanol's combustible...not positive though)

Been there, done that, though only about 7 - 12 teams are still around. 1992, FRC's game Maize Craze. I remember looking through the rules once, can't remember where. Might have been at the TechnoKats History Project site. The floor? Corn.

Oh, for the days of 30-page rulebooks!

and the drivers could be on scissor lifts that would change height depending on where the robot is.

Other than that.............

Soup Game!

A robot collects meat veggies and broth and makes it hot, then serves it to the refs, scoring could be based half on how good the soup is, and half on how well you picked up the ingredients

(original Idea by some kid from rat pack ( I just think it's awsome)!)

Shhh... you're giving away my idea for this years frame. There are hexapod designs that actually pretty good. http://cfs2.tistory.com/upload_contr...NoLzAvNjMuYm1w

A game where it's possible to win by knockout. (Not necessarily rendering your opponents motionless, just achieving some exceedingly difficult objective.)
