How about drive team matches? That is instead of the Drive team driving the robot, the robot shocks the drive team into running and doing the tasks! :yikes:

No wheels or tanks tracks touching the ground. I.E. no rolling drive chain. It has to walk or hover. Unreasonable? Oh, entirely. Awesome? Oh, definitely.

Edit: Whoops, sorry Dan, I must have slipped past your post. This has already been suggested.

Going with the theme of no wheeled robots, how about a game played on a suspended cargo net - no way it's gonna happen - but definitely doable, and I bet there would be a pretty wide variety of solutions.

Actually my team had discussed this at our last meeting! If we hover then we can just have our robot lower to the ground whenever we need to black an object!

Also, air tubes (i dont know the technical term, The tubes full of air at the bottom of the robot that floats inches above the ground) could act as our bumpers!

I say that each robot on the alliance should interact directly. Give each robot a part of the task to fulfill that can't be completed without the interaction of the three. No more alliances that sqeak by relying on one or two robots with a dummy behind them...

Robots start on the outside of the arena and must either flip or climp their way over the retaining wall in order to play the game.

robot paintball around the regular venues campus. This would mean we could only watch via camera but it would be cool:cool:

A game that 100% of people say they love the day of kickoff.

Well, that's like saying having a president that wins 100% of the popular votes. But its a good idea!

Fruit as game pieces! Then there can be food fights after every match! :D
(Human players, of course, may get some of this during a match...)
Actually, that could end up being quite wasteful now that I think of it. But it's more biodegradable than pvc or nylon or rubber!

Stack Attack. (Oh, you meant while the robots are running? Then I'd agree with you, though Triple Play came close.)

Buffet or Gates decide FIRST is to important to fail. Leave feds out, they got to much to deal with. One billion dollars is put in trust fund at 4%. Teams split the interest once a year. I'll leave the math to someone else.
