Duct tape is legal.
On the other hand, electricity is not.
----
All programming must be written in binary.
----
Lemons replace 12V batteries for the power source. Or perhaps hamsters.
----
Non-Newtonian Fluid game. Buy stock in cornstarch now!
----
Robots have a minimum size requirement rather than a maximum.
----
Game objects are Bicycle brand playing cards.
----
Alliances are selected based on the robots' functionalities and the teams' strategies, not based on history and politics
(naw, that's too outlandish even for this thread)

Because real programmers use....http://xkcd.com/378/ (I admit I fail and use nano)

Never gonna happen, for sure.

Never gonna happen, Dave Lavery banned from the internet from April until January (sorry Dave, the red herrings have to stop) and also, no more mention of a water game for illogical reasons. Ie, "I noticed that Dean was wearing blue socks at Championship this year, also Woodie had two blue sharpies with him, this is evidence for a WATER GAME!!!!!!!" A Jello game on the other hand...

Yay, that way i can't electricrute myself...(I did it twice at Cage Match). Actually I could but i dont think it would hurt as mutch with all the power coming from a lemon.

But does that also mean that lemons are illegal since electricity is not?

1 billion at 4% is 40 million. Split between 20,000 high schools is $2000 per team.

Yes but if we split it among FRC teams its 26,000 per teams (1501 according the FIRST) Now, some teams have budgets higher than that, others look at that number and wonder how they would ever need that much money.

Somebody needs to talk them into this.

There is only 1501 teams last season.
that leaves each team approximately $26,650!:D

Oops...Didnt see your post andrew, but we had the same figures. In that case I confirmed your math.

And Go 1501!! that happens to be my team number as well as the amount of Teams in FIRST!

Re: No Way That's Gonna Happen!

Another thing that will never happen, FIRST abandoning its unrealistic goal of FRC in every high school. Logic should tell them they dont need FRC in every school, a more realistic goal would be to have FRC available to every high school student.

25's mind control system being released to other teams for beta testing in hopes of replacing NI by 2010.

I would like to see something involving a mine field. Maybe an obsticle course would be cool. The final contestants are not determined by points, but who still has a robot at the end.

we will happily release this system if we can get Bharat tied down so we can do the extraction surgery. We have the orb ready......

Re: No Way That's Gonna Happen!

Instead of one robot, each team must build 5. the game requires 12 robots per alliance, so the teams could chose one robot from each team to sit out, or three from one team, or two from one team and one from another. The game would require both offense and defense. ah, man, so awesome...

either that or humanoid robots.

or completely autonomous

or 5 completely autonomous humanoid robots per team.:D

How about having the drivers in another room where the only way they can see what is happening is through a camera mounted on the robot?:ahh:

What do I really want to see...

Every team that comes up to the inspection station has their correct Bill of Materials in their hand. And it's actually readable, instead of something they wrote on a piece of notebook paper from memory in the bus that morning:)

I think we've been guilty of that one, but only because we left ours at the shop. Of course, the hand writing was readable...

I like the through-a-camera idea, sort of like that one underwater robotics competition.
