2009 Control System

Has anyone received the new control which was able to be ordered early? Team 1158 is starting to worry because we have yet to receive it.

I do not believe that they will be shipped until around December from what I have heard, but I am not sure, you could email frcteams@usfirst.org

according to this post a few days ago it would imply that they have not shipped yet. The information that has been spreading around is that new control systems will not be shipped until the end of November/ early December. I would assume that when they ship you will receive a confirmation.

If you are conserned I sugest emailing or calling FRC team support. frcteams@usfirst.org or (603) 666-3906

On the conference call from last week, they stated they planned to ship them by the end of November. Of course, that could change.

You have to pay for your original entry to qualify for early shipment.

Re: 2009 Control System

Does anyone have information on the shipping weight and dimensions of the control system package (as opposed to the control system itself)?

We are trying to estimate the cost involved in shipping via a few different means. (Crossing the border always makes for a more complex situation.) I had assumed that the control system package wouldn't be THAT heavy (say ten pounds or less)... but have heard that the control system package is rather massive. I'm guessing that books and manuals must add to the weight if that is the case.

Thanks,

Jason

If you're on the fence about having your new control system shipped early, maybe this bit of information might help. The box is 24 1/4"L x 15 1/2"W x 12"D, it weighs about 60lb and it will be shipped ground. That should help you get an idea of shipping costs to your facility.
I got to see the package when we were filming friday. Now I want one...

There are a lot of toys in there, and they are all in their off-the-shelf packaging.

Thanks for the link! Following through on that, I found http://www.usfirst.org/uploadedFiles/DRAFT%20CONTROLS%20KIT%20-%202009%20KoP%20Checklist%20(110408).pdf which has a list of all the items.

Re: 2009 Control System

Does the cRIO have any static protection? Does anyone know?
I posted this in another thread and i guess no one read it or skipped it.
The static to worry about mainly due to the cRio where the DB37 cables are attached to the main processing unit.

I apologize, if this question has come up and has been answered before in another thread.
Just wanted to clarify.
