Activation of LabView still not working

Still having problems activating LabView

Thank you for the good help with removing the .txt that was hidden. Just renaming the license file did not change it from a text file until I did as explained here: http://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/D...38Me6fznA5Pp7e

Still can’t activate, though.

Opening NI License Manager (see end of explanation in link above) shows me that I do not have the FRC Competition entry, even though I downloaded the LabView file yesterday (11-10-08) from the FIRST site . See the attached Word Document that has a screen shot.
Now what?

Re: Activation of LabView still not working

Be careful ... there's a small disconnect between the LabVIEW installation and the steps provided on the FIRST page.

the FIRST page says to copy the license file (without the ".txt") into a directory path with C:\ProgramFiles\...

but the NI LabVIEW installer (at least on MY laptop) installed the 8.5 software into C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\...

Once I noticed that, and copied my license file to BOTH of the "shared" directories, everything worked perfectly.

Have you posted your question to http://ni.com/first ? There are NI Application Engineers providing support on all of the NI aspects of the control system there.
