Message from Dean on Bill's Blog

Has everyone seen this?

Good Afternoon Teams,

Dean has something he wants to tell you. Last weekend I visited with Dean and lent him a hand as he created a new video clip about the new control system. Watch it here.

50 Days until Kickoff.
See you then!

Thanks for sharing, I hadn't seen the video yet. Nothing new but still cool to see all the parts finished.

So, who's going to dissect the video frame by frame and look for clues for the game? :)

I heard "Raising the bar" twice... 2004 reference?

Haha... just kidding. Hopefully I'll get a chance to play with all these new toys FIRST is giving all the teams. I've even scheduled next semester so I can leave campus and go back home every weekend to aid on Saturdays.

Well, I know I have been left in the dust to learn all this on my own. I'll look at all of it during Christmas break, and I'm sure I'll go to kickoff in January.

I cannot wait for next season! It is sure to be revolutionary.

I was thinking "Game Hint" myself.

Co-opertition? I've never heard that one before. Is it like GP?

Yes... and no. It's a term he's used occasionally. It's a combination of cooperation and competition. Co-operate like crazy on and off the field and compete like crazy on the field (and somewhat off the field, in the design/build areas). It was introduced back around the beginning of the alliance era. Maybe 2000 was the game that had the name Co-opertition FIRST? Alliances started in 1999.

One of the games of a few years ago was called 'coopertition', I believe.

Do you remember last year at the end of the video, we seen Woodie, Dean and Dave I think, lock their handle bars together? Basically I think this is Dean's big dream. He wants to see us cooperate on the field. I think in some fashion we'll need to start working together even more. And what I mean by working together is robot to robot communications or interlocking devices etc...
