A lot of people have discussed the rock paper scissors game, but honestly, how would you play that with a robot? how would it be competitive? how would it even be a game? I'd love to hear some ideas on this.

If you want an original game I gave you one! Alright there probably won't really be an actual inmate. But I still think that it is prison oriented. I mean come on! Shank?! Moon Fish?! (a prison term!?)

basically

shank+moonfish= robotics prison game

honestly acronyms are difficult to make when you have the right words but finding acronyms for everything (moonfish, opah, regularis thingy, etc) would be near impossible:ahh:

Hey is there a pattern here between hints? Like last year. Our first hint was a picture/physical object. Then our second clue was a "riddle"/intangible clue.
perhaps this is our physical clue... perhaps FIRST is sending all of it's teams a supply of fish this year?

I hope the next hint doesn't stir up so many aquatic theories.

to satisfy you people who think it's a water game... We all need to build robotic fish for an underwater search and rescue.

no way...the "vet hurdling tetrads" (something like that) was an anagram for drive straight turn left...it only took me a year to learn the meaning of that one:rolleyes: :p :D

Edit: Did you figure the anagram using some software or with pencil and paper

online at

One of thoughts I've had beginning with the revelation of the hint through the last post of this thread has been the mystery of the ocean. It is one of our resources, globally, that still holds much mystery/promise in terms of exploration and advancement in science and technology. The hint has generated an interest in this fish and some of its myth, tradition, and history. I like that. It is a hint but it has a lot of layers and it has been able to hold our interest. There has been the standard 'water game' commentary but there have also been other discussions and areas of interest presented that have been intriguing. I've also enjoyed some of the posts made by new members to CD. They have been made with care and with thought. It's great to see that and to have the opportunity to learn from those carefully crafted posts.
