[FTC]: High Score

Hey Guys!!

Last year I remember having a thread where teams could compare their high scores to see how they stacked up with the competition. I haven't seen a similar thread this year, so I figured I'd start one.

So what are you guys' teams' high scores so far this year?

Re: [FTC]: High Score

In one of our matches, we scored a little over 100 pts. I remember seeing one team (111, I think) hit over 160 in a single match.

Re: [FTC]: High Score

Hm...Idk, but I have a hard time believing that...you have proof? ie, pics? vid of the match?

Re: [FTC]: High Score

Correct. MiniStang (FTC 111) scored a 160+ (can't remember the exact number off hand). They also scored 158 twice prior to the 160. If I recall, their partners contributed to their scores with pucks and being off the field in all three cases.

I was reffing the high score match and was joking that I should have been paid by the puck when scoring :) I want to say they had over 24 pucks in the triangle goal.

very nice. That's all i have to say.

Re: [FTC]: High Score

Yes, we scored 166 points for ourselves, and 50+ for the other teams in that match.

Re: [FTC]: High Score

I'm assuming that you had a developed autonomous and a very good alliance partner. :D.

Re: [FTC]: High Score

I'll let Shawn correct me if I'm wrong, but as I recall, MiniStang didn't move in autonomous and their partner didn't come off the starting platform. One of their opponents regularly tumbled down the starting ramp and righted themselves with their arm (built really strong). Unfortunately during that match they got wedged against the field border. The other opponent was moving around, but spent a great deal of time trying to unwedge their partner.

In the meantime, MiniStang collected a few racks worth of pucks and scored them. As Shawn said, they scored some of their opponents pucks in order to get their RPs up (they had the same record as the #1 seed, but lost the RP tiebreaker).

Re: [FTC]: High Score

That sounds about right.

We had an autonomous in the very last practice match, but due to a programming error, the encoder on the arm did not get reset correctly. During the tele-op, our drivers tried to reset the encoder manually, but ended up burning out the motor. We decided not to risk it, so we did not have a autonomous for the rest of the day.

Re: [FTC]: High Score

FTC 177 scored 140-something at the Va regional Dec 6th. 1 full rack in the top goal for autonomous plus most of the rest in teleop, plus a few in the lower goal and a couple on the floor.

That was an impressive match to watch.

Re: [FTC]: High Score

the highest we have scored is 118 points(from team duct tape 2845). this was at the first FTC competition of the season. it was a very interesting game and the highest score of that competition was ours. that match was extremely exciting but know where near as exciting as the final match between us, exploding backan, roboravens, and one other team i forgot the name of. every single puck rack was dumped making it very hard to get any points. at the end of the match our alliance won by about 10 points.

Re: [FTC]: High Score

We competed at our first regional yesterday in Delaware (Power Surge 2945), and our highest score was 213 points (we scored all the points in that match), followed by a 209 and a 206; we won all 11 of our matches. Our 213-point score would have been 217, but the triangle goal was so full that two of the pucks were hanging over the side and therefore only counted in the circle goal. :)

How many regional tournaments have occurred thus far? VA, Delaware, any others?

Re: [FTC]: High Score

There are have been many others. Go to www.usfirst.org for the list.

Nice score, any one have pics o' delaware regional?

Re: [FTC]: High Score

We can back up team 2945's claim of 200+ points scored. We competed against them twice in the Delaware regional, and both times we were completely outclassed. We were Team Impulse, and we were in the second place alliance behind 2945. I remember, in the finals, we tried to get pucks, but they scored around 100 points just in autonomous, and in teleop, their alliance partner tipped all of our puck racks and held the pucks, so we couldn't score. Their robot design is amazing.

Our coach might have some pics of the Delaware regionals. I'll ask him later.

We broke our high score of 213 twice today at the NJ championship. 234 and 239. :-D

Re: [FTC]: High Score

...simply amazing. Did you guys win again?

gdo 08-02-2009 10:30

Re: [FTC]: High Score

That they did, it was amazing to compete againist them. They just have an amazing robot. Also Power Surge, congrats on winning the NJ competition and also winning the innovate award!

Though we did manage to give them a "run for their money" in the second round of the divisional finals. Though 73-184 isn't a very close score... but it was probably one of the hardest fought rounds that day!

Re: [FTC]: High Score

Yeah, it does sound like that was probably one of the closest match (if not the closest) that we fought that day. Team Unlimited, you had a pretty cool robot/team. keep it up!

Re: [FTC]: High Score

Am I the only person who feels that the organizing a tournament with divisions is a bit unfair (the idea that teams have to beat teams and aren't allowed to ally with teams in the other division to win the tournament)?

gdo 08-02-2009 15:10

Re: [FTC]: High Score

It was based off of Atlanta from what I could see. They had the same format in structure. From what I saw it alternated on the team list....A,B,A,B,A,B..... but there might have been a few exceptions.

It was interesting. I thought people were kidding when they said that we should expect 10-20 minutes between rounds to setup. Getting those links took forever some times it seemed, or was that just me?

Monty Python 08-02-2009 15:32

Re: [FTC]: High Score

That makes sense, although I know that it was their policy that sister teams were put in the same division.

which links you talking about?..linking the robot to the field to start the match? If that is the case, then i understand so far is that the issue is either between the main field management software/computer and using bluetooth. From what i am noticing, is that on the computer itself is maybe they are too many bluetooth connections which could be clogging up somekind of cache/connection limit or an issue with the bluetooh itself such as other bluetooth inference with other bluetooth devices

Re: [FTC]: High Score

Whoops, forgot to put this in my other post. The FMS in the Turnpike division was done incredibly well, far better than any tournament I've been at yet. The link setup was done very easily and there were few, if any, cases of an FMS issue. The Parkway division had trouble making a connection for some reason. My guess is that this was a computer issue rather than a bluetooth issue, but I'm no expert.
