Axis Camera Testing help

I would like ot get some help on getting the Axis camera to communicate with the laptop. I am running vista and trying to do this on LabVIEW. Please help! If anyone knows a good working VI, that would be great

Are you hooking the camera to the cRIO, or directly to the PC?

Re: Axis Camera Testing help

I was working with Doug, we were hooking the camera directly to the PC. We set the IP address correctly on the PC and used the cross over cable. Turned off the firewall

Tested the connection with a web browser and that worked.

We are using a VI that we found on another thread. It gets an image an then throws an error about not being able to access the server (correct me if I am wrong here Doug).

Doug,
Have you tried accessing it since we set the root password?

Re: Axis Camera Testing help

We seem to be double threading it here, but the error probably has nothing to do with the account authentication. That gives a pretty specific error message.

There are two TCP sessions being set up for the cRIO usage, one to the camera's server, and the other to the dashboard PC. Not having tried those VIs on the PC, it sounds like the camera session succeeds, but the dashboard is failing for some reason. It sounds like once the errors are done things work, correct?

Well, when I click out of one error, it finds another. Then another, then another. And it keeps sending me deeper into the code. I spent 2 hours last night steping-into the code trying to find the esact spot where it first errors. I found it, but when i double checked, it was then somewhere else. Either way, always at a TCP protocall

While the camera is connected directly to the laptop have you run "Setup AXIS camera"?

That is exactly what what is happening. I'm trying to go through and get rid of all the Send To PC stuff right now but it is hard to find it all. The code is usable if you don't mind saying "continue" to a bunch of boxes. Seems to me it might be handy to have a set of separate Camera VIs for use on a standalone computer. Either that or a boolean input to the Camera Start VI. Something that you NI guys might want to work on if you have spare time? ;) Thanks for your help so far.

Re: Axis Camera Testing help

Apologies for the double thread.

Once we created the FRC/FRC user on the camera, it started working.

Thanks for you help.

Now on to getting the cRIO flashed.
