'Twas The Week Before Kickoff...

Here is a poem for everyone to enjoy! :)

’Twas the Week Before Kickoff
By Team 692, The Fembots
(with apologies to Clement C. Moore)

’Twas the week before Kickoff, when all through the state
Not a robot was stirring, within its own crate.
The tools were hung on the pegboard with care,
In hopes that Dean Kamen soon would be there.

The students were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of parts kits danced in their heads.
And mentors in their wisdom and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap.

When out on Chief Delphi there arose such a chatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to Microsoft® Windows® I flew like a goose,
Opened the FIRST website and clicked on the clues.

The first was a fish, all silver and spotted.
“An opah?” I asked. “Yes,” my friend nodded.
I knew not what it meant as I sat there and stared,
But I appreciated the thoughts that the posters had shared.

The next clue was full of all kinds of strange places,
But I knew it was easy to find friendly faces
Among all the FIRST teams in this world so spacious
Where professionalism, my friends, is always so gracious.

Now pistons! Now cables! Now tubing and connectors!
On, motors! On, bearings! On gauges and victors!
From January the third! To February the seventeenth!
Now build away! Build away! Build away all!

Good luck teams!!!

Nicely done! I think I might have to print that out on a poster for our workshop (with you permission, of course).

WOW! Thank you, that just made my day!
I will be sure to share this with the rest of my team.
Now someone needs to come up with a FIRST version of
"the 12 days of Christmas"
Except call it "the 6 weeks of regionals"

Someone wrote another fun Twas the Night Before poem in the Merry Christmas Chit-Chat thread: http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=70824

And I took Garrett up on his challenge for the 12 days of Christmas here:

oooo that had to be one of the best things i've read in a while!
the team that wrote this should make the poem into a picture book and then sell them for a fundraiser!
