From the list of materials and drawings, I agree that it's thirty or forty pounds. All the same, this trailer is going to make driving difficult, not only because of the surface or driving style, but because if you want to put it in reverse fast, it's going to be tough.

How do you attach the top piece to the big pole in the middle of the trailer?

It is not really attached to the pole in the middle. It is only attached at the bottom with the PVC Cap. The whole should be the right side and it holds it in nicely.

For a side note, we built an official one (we got the materials donated) it weighs in at 35 points.
