Unfortunately I think not.
That idea was speculated on our team but someone said since its wireless it could interfere with the robots so its not allowed... pity tho!

you could. it uses bluetooth... people have hacked it to play computer games, so why not. In my opinion its much more trouble than its worth , and much more inacurate than the provided joysticks or an xbox controller.

edit: about the wireless interference, will anything on the field use bluetooth?

I would say that using a Wiimote is communicating wirelessly within the Operator Console.

For demos and such? I guess the question then becomes: does it plug into a standard USB port without needing extra drivers, or could a converter be made for the other inputs? If either of the above is true, then it could be. But if you show up at a competition with it, the inspectors or the refs will make you remove the Wii system!

You can interface it with LabView, as a nice developer there created a VI. Sure some stuff doesn't work, but it'd be neat to use.
