Linear Actuator

Would a linear actuator such as the one at http://www.robotshop.us/firgelli-pq-...-actuator.html be legal?

Re: Linear Actuator

This is either a solenoid or a custom circuit. Solenoids are prohibited in R52, but custom circuits are allowed in various cases. I would ask the Q&A on this one unless someone has better information. Personally I believe it is a solenoid and therefore prohibited; however, I'm not the GDC.

Under Robot rule <52> I would say no, but you could ask under the official Q & A.

"B.
Electric solenoid actuators (note: electric solenoid actuators are NOT the same as pneumatic solenoid valves – the latter are permitted, the former are not)."

To me the part you want to use falls under the electric solenoid actuators category.

No, it uses a motor. See <R51>

Re: Linear Actuator

So, would it be called a liner servo?
