Are Banebots planetary gearboxes legal?
 
Can anyone tell me if banebots planetary gear boxes 12.5" cim or sim motor legal to use in the 2009 FIRST robotics comp.??

it is not included in the kits box so that is why i am asking this.

Yea... as long as every other team can purchase them. Banebots.com has them, so yes, they're legal.

As long as you don't use any motors that come with them and are outside the allowed motor rules, that is.

Does anyone know if the RS-550 motors are legal? The kit came with 2 RS-545's. I know that the 550's were legal last year.

Reference <R51>. If the RS-550s are not in the 2009 kit of parts, then they are not 2009 legal.
