Creating Cable/Wire systems within Inventor

My team is fairly new to using inventor as a design aid and its kind of scary that I am considered "senior design" just because this isn't my first year using Inventor (only my second). We've decided as a team to try and enter a model into the Autodesk Design Competition and I'm curious if there a simple way to create Cable/Wire assemblies within this program?

Please and Thank you,
Alex Paynter 1565

Re: Creating Cable/Wire systems within Inventor

Hi Alex,

There is a dedicated "Cable and Harness" application within Inventor. I recommend giving the tutorial a try; I think you'll find it is approachable, and it will allow you to quickly generate "nailboard" prints to help build your final cable harnesses.

I recommend leaning away from one massive Harness assembly, and instead dividing it up into manageable sections.

You can also use the "Tube and Pipe" application for your pneumatics, in a similar fashion.

Good luck,
Pete
