Gyro wiring?

Our team is trying to hook up the gyro, but we cannot find where to do this. We have looked at the sensor manual with no success. We have search here and on the FIRST forums. I have even looked through the titles of all the threads on the FIRST forums and all the electrical threads here. Any thing having to do with the gyro I have looked at and no one else seems to be having the same problem. Has anyone else hooked up the gyro or know how to do it?

Thanks!

Re: Gyro wiring?

You have to hook it up to a pwm cable, and plug it into the analog bumper i believe.

We know that, but what orientation does the cable go in? Our gyro isn't labled:ahh: !

It doesn't look like this?

From top to bottom it's Signal (white), 5V (red), 0V (black) in the rate column

Thanks! Our gyro looks like that but it doesn't say where to attach what as show in the picture.

Re: Gyro wiring?

Thank you for the information. For our reference, since the gyro doesn't have +5V and 0V labeled (as the accelerometer does), how did you know?

I can't seem to access their website at the moment but if you track down the FRC2009 Competition Manual website, there is a Sensor Manual that goes with Section 8 Robot Rules. I'm fairly certain that the gyro and accelerometer boards' datasheets are included in that document.

The document is here

There is a little star thing around the signal on the X axis on the accelerometer, just like on the temp on the gyro. If you look at the PCB, the wiring for those holes come from different places instead of being common like the 5V and the 0V.
