Scoring system.

I am interested in playing around with FIRST's scoring software. Does anyone know if there is a copy of it available somewhere?

not sure what you are talking about...

I am not sure what you are talking about when you say FIRST's scoring software...

Are you talking about some software developed by FIRST themselves that does the scoring of each game? Or softwares developed by teams that score each game?

I know that if you want the second one, they are all in the white paper section.

Actual S.

The actual software they use...

At the end of each match, it generates nice tables showing the match's result and stores that information in the database. It can show you the list of participating teams and their current score and rank...things like that.

Well, I dont know if this helps....

...but I still thought it was funny ;)

Info on scoreFIRST program

Bruce Mueller, a Motorola engineer actually developed the software in his free time. He was on teams in '92 & '96 and has been volunteering for FIRST since '97 (he won the volunteer award at the Midwest Regional this year).

Bruce was on Wildstang in '96 and works in the same building as me so I've talked to him quite a bit and got to see versions of the software. I don't know much about the actual software itself other than it's written completely in MS Access 2000, and it took a long time to write. Like a true FIRSTer, Bruce wasn't done with it until a few days before the first regionals.

Re: Info on scoreFIRST program

ChiefDelphi has had a version of it in their Chief Delphi Invitational for the scoring.

Not sure if it was just a replica, or the real thing. Joe Johnson would be the one to ask.

I've got it...and I know where you could go to download it...but to save a massive load on FIRST's server, I'll keep that information quiet...if you REALLY want it, IM me(see my profile) and I can point you in the right direction...I think they more or less try to keep it just for those teams running events, so if you want to do it the "official" way, I'd e-mail Eric Rasmussen at FIRST (ear@usfirst.org) and ask him...

Buzz's scoring program

Buzz has a scoring program for this past year's game. You can find it on our website for download & flash versions. (It's not like the FIRST program) but it is pretty good!!
