Haha no, that was the very first time we fired it up. The sandpaper roughs up the balls pretty quickly, but it also grips them extremely well.

With our new method that we came up with tonight, we shot balls about 20 feet accurately running on a 1,000 rpm drill, so with a real motor it should get interesting.

The final shooting design is getting it's final tweaks this weekend and production is starting to being! Exciting times at Lafayette Jeff High School.

I have had many thoughts about using sandpaper this year, but would it be legal to do the shooter wheel with it? Due to the damage it does to the ball.
