CIM FR801-001 Finding Gear help?

I have a CIM FR801-001 motor. I picked it up from a my old first team that disbanded a long time ago. I am an EE so I don't know much about the mechanical drive train.

Basically, I want to put a gear on the motor shaft itself. I don't need a gearbox or anything like that, just to somehow get a gear onto the motor shaft. It's keyed and I don't know what to do with it.

Thanks, I'd appreciate any information or help would be great.

A little more information can help us out a lot. What kind of gear? What are you trying to do with this gear?

I'm connecting this gear to a bike drive train or chain. I can do modifications to the drive train or change it completely.

I don't know what type of gear i need. Any gear that resembles a bike gear should be fine. What I really need is just something to connected to the shaft so I can input power (spin the shaft) to make some electricity.

Sorry I don't know much about the topic. Any other questions?
Thanks for the help i appreciate it.

Ah, you're talking about a Sprocket. Sprockets drive chain, Gears drive other gears. I'm not sure of the size of Bike chain. Let me poke around, and see what I can find.

The CIM will need to be spun up pretty fast to make electricity. See about putting a roller wheel on the motor shaft, and having that press against the bike wheel. Trying to turn it with pedals by putting a sprocket on it will be way too slow!

you want it to be running about 4000 rpm

If I recall correctly, bike chain is #40 chain.

If I recall right, bike chain is bike chain, it's not standard numbered roller chain.
