Flexible Material
Was wondering if anyone knew of a material that could bend completely and is tough so it could pick up ones of those "moon rocks or empty cells or super cells"
We were thinking of using foam but the problem of using foam is that we need another motor and we want to keep it with just one motor. Thank you :)! 1872 I think its the number of my team :P not really sure... |
Re: Flexible Material
Lexan is a somewhat easilaly bender material just add heat and you can bend it

and By 'pick up', how do you intend on picking things up? roller? tongs? spikes? magic? Once we know these, we can help you. |

Re: Flexible Material
Well if it need to be plastic, then just go to the store, and buy some of the tubberware* That stuff can be adjusted with heat, and is really sturdy.
*I am not sure if that is the exact name, just pretty much look for the huge bowls that people store food in that are plastic. Or debate tubs will work too. |
Re: Flexible Material
Could have forks protruding from the belt on springs of some sort so when it hits a solid something it bends back and releases again as it goes back down.

Re: Flexible Material
No, I meant metal forks.

Re: Flexible Material
You should use some thin polycarbonate. You could make forks with this.

Re: Flexible Material
I found something better, our team is using somekind of polycarbonate sheet. They needed it to bend, so we took a propane torch and heated it up for a while, and it worked well.
