According to <R18>, drawing "GE-09040" has the details. <R18> governs the placement and mounting.

Re: Trailer Hitch

if your kit chassis is like mine(i hope)

there should be 2 lines all the way accross the c-channel,

the bottom one is the 2 13/16th mark if you have the rover wheels mounted through the holes in the chassis and not in above or below....

Ok I have a question... and it's kinda relevant here:

Is the trailer hitch on your bot included in your total dimensions??

This information is clearly covered in the latest version of the Robot section (Chapter 8) of the FRC Competition manual.

Make sure to keep track of Team Updates throughout the season. When you see an update that changes a rule in a section of the manual you should download a new copy of the section and print a new copy of relevant pages if you keep a printed copy of the manual in your shop.

Re: Trailer Hitch

is there going to be a trailer hitch with each trailer at the competition or will we need to bring our own?

See Vikesrock's answer.

Or Section 8.3.2, <R18>.

I've read that, and it says nothing about the hitch having to fit in the 28 X 38 dimensions. Is this true?

Re: Trailer Hitch

<R11> says the hitch does NOT have to fit in the 28 x 38" dimension

To build on this, a logical extension is that making the hitch easily removable will probably be convenient in order to get your robot inspected.

Re: Trailer Hitch

More questions about the trailer hitch- I assembles a hitch like the one for the competition trailer (which is different than the team built trailer) and found that the small .615 dia. Hitch pin fits into a 1 inch x 1 inch square tube. There is only about 1 3/8 inch from the pin to the edge of the square tube. Will this limit the amount of turn that the trailer can make and if the aluminum hits the trailer hitch assembly (although it barley fits inside maybe if perfectly centered) will this be a violation of <R18> E..

We want to turn as sharp as possible so we can pin wheel around the trailer for defense.
