we share your pain. weve spent hours on the phones with various walmarts and driven up and down new jersey and we only have come up with 6 orbit balls |
Re: pic: This is what happens when a mentor goes to Kentucky...
I got 16 by calling up a Walmart off of the list on Bill's Blog in an area where I knew there were not many nearby teams.
We made 18 out of polycarb for packaging and human player practice. These are much more durable than the real ones. My recommendation would be to call up Walmarts in Arkansas. There are very few FRC teams and a whole bunch of Walmarts. Or contact Baxter Bomb Squad and make it worth there while. |

We have 12, but are trying to help other teams in the Tulsa district find them and aquire them

*Fumbles around trying to make orbit balls* That's it! I'm moving my highschool to Kentucky

I know that the Rapid City, SD Walmart was listed as having 2. Previously, they had 3. I think they've got zero, because I got two there last week. Those are heading for L.A.
I'd have also raided the one in Spearfish, SD, but it's out of my range. |

yes they ae that important |
Re: pic: This is what happens when a mentor goes to Kentucky...
My team, the Robettes, were lucky enough to have a similar situation happen to us. The parents of one of our mentors were driving back from Texas up to Minnesota, so they stopped at all the Walmarts on the way back for us :D We received 25 from that road trip; without that we probably wouldn't have any since all the Walmarts in Minnesota were sold out two days after the kickoff

While i was back home in LA with the team i graduated from, i called up many many walmart and toys r us stores asking if they had them as well as visiting them. I found ZERO orbit balls.
And theeen coming back to Purdue and ripping walmart bags open full of orbit balls definitely made my list of most satisfying experiences in FIRST. Haha. P.S. Kyle, there were definitely more attractive pictures you could've posted instead of this one, with both Ryan and Diaz actually looking. :P |
Re: pic: This is what happens when a mentor goes to Kentucky...
wow very nice...leave it to the crazy roadtrippers to find the orbit balls!

Re: pic: This is what happens when a mentor goes to Kentucky...
I live in the south but my team is from the north. I have only done about a 50 mile radius from my home but i have sent back 9 orbit balls to them. Alabama is the place to find them.
