and we got the robot driving last night, with the new control system mounted on the new robot.

We aren't sure if this is the final robot, or a nice prototype, or a combination thereof. The funky piece of plywod across the top is definitely going to be replaced once we figure out what it needs to be. The chassis and shooter will probably be OK for final use.

We have a very similar shooter design of a front lower roller, and today we discussed riveting a tred strip to the outside wall like you have done. We decided that it may tear ball cloth at such a high speed. Did we make the wrong decision? Are you tearing up moon rocks?

We have our chassis base all drawn out in inventor. We have drawings on the complete robot, currently prototyping. Need to build a better trailer tomorrow (the one we have has 1.5" diameter tubes, not 1" like it is supposed to!). We have our drive train agreed upon. We're hoping to get all the final prototyping done tomorrow, and have the entire robot in inventor by Tuesday or so. We've had setbacks due to cold days and we're not meeting currently because we're busy studying for midterm exams. Robotics is important, but passing calculus takes top priority :) Tomorrow will be a huge day.

I'm on animation, so I don't pay as much attention to the robot as others. I've heard the designers are going to be finally finished this Saturday. I'm also certain the programmers have gotten our practice bot to follow the color thingamajigs above the trailers. Beyond that, I don't know.

(what's patiently for Chad the mech/fab guy to give me an update...) ;)

We have a finished drivetrain, electronics board, and a prototyped lifter mechanism. In our minds, we seem to be right on track.
