[FTC]: Attaching Tetrix to LEGO motors.
Hello,
My Team has recently been trying to think of ways to connect the LEGO motors to the Tetrix axles and elements. We figured out that the LEGO connectors thread into the Tetrix screws and that works well, but we are not too excited about that option. It seems kind of dangerous, and not too strong. Plus we were trying to get a direct connection to the Orange holes with the FTC screws. Does anyone have any suggestions? |

Two of the holes in the LEGO double-beveled gears align nicely with the holes of the TETRIX gears. Attach the LEGO gear to the motor using an axle. Use a long screw sticking out through the gear into the TETRIX gear. Attach a nut on the other end of the screw (might need some spacers or other gears in between as well).

The square Vex axles are a perfect fit in the Lego motors. At least this gives you a steel drive shaft to which you may attach other mechanisms. We've used this to create a windlass for a couple of applications.

Hm...
Mr. Lowe, I like the idea with the gears, but I'm not a fan of the LEGO shafts, and yet, we can use the VEX shafts, RICK TYler, I think i'll throw those 2 together and see what I get. Thankx. |
