Yes...it is a smiley face... our guys got a little carried away:rolleyes:
took us almost 4 hours on the waterjet to finish those 4 plates:eek: ...i blame the smileys:D

Where are you guys using a waterjet? Is it through Georgia Tech?

No, a place in Woodstock called Capital Fabrication generously lets us use their waterjet. :D

O cool. I remember calling them in 2007 I think to get some machine time. Good for you guys. Nice drivetrain. It looks super beefy. Whats the weight? O and why the monster spur gears?

nope, second year sponsor.

I wanna say waht you see there weights in at 11lbs...but i cant remember for sure. The monster spur is for the reduction we wanted in a single step:yikes:

Yes it is 12 LBS per module, plus about 3 for the crossbeams, so probably about 27lbs total for the drive. The spur gears are about 1.5LBS a piece, but if weight is a problem we will take weight out of those, if not it will be nice to have that weight down low. :D

Thats not too bad on the weight. Yeah those gears could easily be turned down to cut weight. What are you planning for the upper part of the bot?
