1. It would seem to me, that without electricity, you wouldn't have those lights. :D.

2. Reminds myself to add that to a list of things that only freshmen should do. ALong with tapping. MUAHAHAHA.

Post links to unavailable youtube videos that suggest a Travis Baker interview?

Oh there it is... You couldn't somehow tap the power drills to the lights since they're on the backup generaator?

I've always wanted one of those. Mechanical tools are wonderful failsafes for when our beloved electricity hops off and has a vacation.

We do a similar thing with our newbies. When they rivet, for the first time, we give them the hand riveter. After they learn humility, we give them the pneumatic one :)

I think I have a blank 8 track tape around here somewhere too. And a new underdash player, just waiting to go in an old car.

I actually have a hand drill somewhere. It's so ancient that it doesn't have a guard over the gears, so I constantly pinch myself when I use it.
Good times...

This reminds me of a time when we asked somebody to cut us a piece of lexan to size. The coach didn't realize that he'd left the safety key to the bandsaw tucked away in a cabinet, so we found the kid turning the wheel of the bandsaw by hand!
