I loved monster being my sponsor last year, pulling 6am nights and waking up 2 hours later to go back to robot. But about 2 weeks into the season, I started getting HORIFFIC headaches when I drank them, so now I don't. Its all 5 hour energy for me... That stuff is straight up amazing.

that stuff is the drink of the gods (if the gods built robots until 6 am, because they had to ship them out in 18 hours and they really didn't have a robot, but a pile of fabricated parts that make a robot, that worked, and failed, then needed to be rebuilt at 6am)

Oh and nice axles for the rover wheels, ours are just like those, but with hex cuts out in the center

Has anyone ever had Monster as an OFFICIAL sponsor? 1646 called the people who dealt with sponsorship, and they said that they had never heard of FIRST, and wanted to focus on motocross and other extreme sports.

Wouldn't FIRST be classified as an extreme sport? We are, after all, like the WWF, but smarter:D

I got pretty close to having them sponsor a side project combat robotics team, but they don't really do robotics. If someone gets a rep to come to the competition (even informally), I think they'll see how big of a target audience they have available...

They said "they don't really do robotics?" I think you're right, if they visited a competition, they might change their minds about that.

These are hexed in the center, just hard to see...
we used a hex broach and a 40-ton hydraulic shop press ...
and still found it "interesting" to accomplish...
not for the timid at heart to do.....
especially late at night ..
with a project manager yelling 'where are my parts'...
but well worth the finished product...
EDM would have been kinder and gentler.. but way too slow for this project...

now on to the anodizer... and the next batch of parts..

Note to project manager: we are running low on Monster ... OAO

Might want to stay tune closer to FLR for some info on team 2228 for FLR... ;)

That's what one of the California Reps told me. If they had any sort of presence up here in Spokane, I'd be trying to get them to sponsor us...

Is that contraption even safe lol. I wish we had some carzy huge insane company as our sponsors, not like NASA isn't crazily insanely huge, but a new one would be cool too :]
