Switch digital input to output during operation? Parallax Ultrasonic

I have been trying to run a ultrasonic sensoic sensor, but I keep getting a result of ~.045653 no matter what I do. The light on the sensor blinks every time it pings, but I do not get any feedback.

Will the ultrasonic class work with the Parallax Ping Ultrasonic Sensor, or will it cause issues because there is only one in/out on the sensor? If not would it be possible to set a digital output to a digital input during operation?

Thank you

The Ultrasonic class is designed to work with the Daventech SRF04 (or Vex) rangefinders. You can also use the Maxbotix sensors with analog outputs then just convert the voltage to distance.

Using one of the one wire ultrasonic sensors where you have to switch an input to an output is not recommended.

I recall last year we were able to wire the one header on the parallax ultrasonic rangefinder to two headers on the old controllers and that worked. That wont work this year either?
