I agree. This is the basic set-up of our build site (WHS) & same cinder block walls & boring colored paint job going by the clues in the background.
But it's not ours. lol

To Enigma's Puzzle: It doesn't matter who the team is, this is true, but I believe as far as teasers go, this is the first anonymous one that has been posted by Brandon here on CD on behalf of a team, so questions risen from that fact itself, are in fact the enigmas. ;)

Who are they?
Why would they not post it themselves?

Judging by clues from the picture itself, we can all tell who's bot it looks like, but maybe it's none of those teams that have been mentioned at all.
I'm looking forward to the follow up post that says who it is, unless the team is just going to show up at a regional event, & see who identifies them from the picture.

I think of this picture, in a way, no more helpful to anyone than a Game Hint by the GDC, except this picture actually gives others an idea of what types of 'bots to expect to see at competitions, so in that regard it is 10x more helpful than a Game Hint. :p

I just noticed an interesting little thing.
A little period at the end of the description of the uploaded picture post by Brandon.

Is this an indication that it was given to Brandon by the most (in)famous person here who uses a period at the end of their posts??
Mr. Dave Lavery, is this an anonymous teaser from Team 116? :p

Nope, not us...our speed holes don't go in until practice day at Midwest :p

We'll reveal in due time.

We could always do like they do on CSI: Zoom into the thumb in the photograph until we get close enough to take a fingerprint, then send it to the FBI fingerprint database and see how many matches we get! :p

Someone has to ask the Question... how are they going to legally attach their bumpers??

I just didn't want the '148' comment to get lost .. so I added some whitespace below, following in the footsteps of Mr. Lavery.

Being the first request to post an anonymous teaser, I was hesitant -- mostly because I didn't want to be bombarded by more requests. But if any other teams want to trust me with their teaser, I'll gladly do any others this year. There's only one guideline: show us the whole robot .. not a little tiny piece of it. Send it to me via e-mail and I'll upload it.

This is probably the most brilliant comment I've seen in the thread so far.

So technically Gary beat you to it... but that is a good question. Maybe they have invisibumpers? Are there rules about how your bumpers are allowed to bend and reflect light?

And I wonder why a team would want to remain anonymous, but still share their robot design, other than to confuse us all... unless that was their motive.

1519? One of their kids posted earlier about how to CAD a spiral, and they build in a basement/living room don't they?

Re: pic: Anonymous Teaser

Hey all,

I received this message in the mail from the anonymous team:

"Our anonymous teaser is anonymous for the fun of it. We were trying to do something different to avoid getting lost in the teaser mayhem. Instead of posting a teaser of some small part of our robot and have you guess what it was attached to, we posted the whole robot and thought people could have fun guessing our team!

The robot is obviously not competition ready in this picture. There are supports for the bumpers missing…and we may want to add a control system at some point. However, we are not worried about getting these completed since this has been one of our quickest robot builds ever. This unusual extra week of robot test and break time is leaving us with an optimistic outlook on the season, as it should, since at least one of our other robots has played on Einstein.

We also want to remind people that coming into the last week of build, stress starts ramping up when things go wrong, make sure you HAVE FUN!"

Hrmn... who could it be? They seem pretty well known to me :)

(No, it's still not 148.)
