Animation Due Date?
 

It says in the regional requirements for the Autodesk Design Competition that the competition animation must be submitted by 12 February 2009. Does this mean that we can submit by 11:59pm on February 12th or is there another time we must submit it by that same day (like last year I think it was 5:00pm)? And does it matter what timezone you are in? If so what timezone should we go by? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

And on an unrelated note... does anyone else think it's odd that the animation is due on a Thursday?

upload before feb 12th!!!

that way you insure its in. Otherwise to much traffic going into that site. Happens every year.

Yeah, when the Autodesk servers catch on fire right before the deadline, all you can do is pray that they extend the deadline.

It is odd that they pick a Thursday instead of a Friday. When do they actually start accepting entries?

Oh man, here it comes guys. The flood of help cries for animation. Ok, *whew* I can handle this. I will try to live up to my promise to help everyone.

grrr... so not ready this year.

{lament} Got into building this year and totally failed to organize the team, and no mentors would even sit in on our meetings thereby giving us a room to talk in{/lament}

However, I'm confident we will get everything in in the nick of time... and next year someone else can have this headache...

Here is my question: If you had an animation that exceeded the 250mg limit, what would you do to reduce the size quickly?

nothing. Our animation last year was 300 MB. Make sure you upload NOW! also make sure its the NTSC-DV/DV pro compressor.
