10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.

Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
I'll be the first to say :ahh: I'm scared
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Wow... Nice. Having that much accuracy at that high of a rate is a very good accomplishment.
Is the launcher powered by a CIM? |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
THAT'S NUTS!
Awesome works guys! Good luck this season! |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
that is scary, but if they miss they are so screwed.:D i am not looking forward to going against that at davis
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Can't wait to see you at Sac!

Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
I knew there was a reason we decided to go to LA instead of Sacremento.
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Holy Cow that's impressive! Something tells me you guys are going to do great this year! Good luck to you! :D
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
oh man... if a robot gets in range of you guys they... will have 10 more orbit balls in their trailer. assuming you get the right angle. man that thing is scary :yikes:
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Wait so... the sideways aspect isn't some sort of hint of what's to come?
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Very nice! do you have automatic distance/speed adjustment?
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
thank goodness I'm in southern Cal.:ahh:
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
BEAST
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
As soon as you line up with a robot during competition and fire, the announcer and the crowd are going to go nuts. $10 bucks says you will be the crowd favorite. AWESOME job you guys.
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
That was really intense, good job. What material are you using for your shooter roller?
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
It looks like you guys tilt the back of the conveyor to disengage the balls from the conveyor, then rev the conveyor to full speed so that the motors can accelerate under no-load and then reengage to shoot them out. I love the design!
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Wait, what. I had to watch that three times before fully comprehending what was going on. Great job!
|

I can see it now, you guys following us around slowly filling our trailer with that amazing turret. Then in the last second of the match, POW we score. Perfect 100-100 tie :D Quote:
I'm not so big on the automatic part. I don't have much faith in programming, or cameras. We shall see. Quote:

OMG! and here I thought wed do good this year. Strike that idea.
Pure Win Epic Win Im crying Im so petrified |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
No words, no.... words.... can describe how I'm feeling right now. All I can say is, I will be glued to my computer screen watching every single match you guys play in this season.
Very good job, keep up the great work! :) |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Wow...I'm definitely scared:eek:. That robot's a beast! And the worst part, we gotta go up against them at SVR AND Davis!
Looks like we got some work to do, but I think we could match that if we really want to. Hmm.... |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Ladies and Gentlement. We have a winner.
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
If that video is not a single success, but just one shot of a long string of successful attempts, i'm glad to be as far away as possible from that thing, and hope that Israel is far enough.
Congratulations on an amazing and an original design! Can't wait to see it in action... |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Very impressive, very impressive indeed. You guys are definitely going to be one of the teams to watch out for this year. Not to mention you have a really awesome and elegant design.
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
What kind of mechanism do you have to keep the balls in the holding area as you take some more off the floor?
I guess my real question is how many times a match will you be able to load 10 & actually shoot ten at a time? Also, are you using the camera to target the goal, or just dead reckoning with a perfect line of sight to the goal? That is in impressive in any case, I just am wondering how feasible it will be during a match to get 10 balls in there & score all ten. |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
O.O
*thanks god that 904 is a midwest team* that is awsome... i would love to see that in action. |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Whoa. Really making the scorer's job hard, aren't you!
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
I love your bot & especially watching it score an insane number of moon rocks in a blast. If this video is any indication, I don't think you'll have to worry about scoring any stink'n supercells!
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Beast.

In any case we don't have to shoot all the balls in the magazine. The intake/elevator is on a victor so we can vary the speed and only feed a few balls in at a time. We are also adept at both ground and HP loading. So we should be able to reload fairly quickly... or pickup what we've already missed. |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
I'm really hoping that this machine only works right when tipped 90 degrees....oh well. Wishful thinking. :P
Awesome Job guys! Keep up the great work! |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
This is almost exactly our design.:D The only difference is that you guys have separated the balls in to independent columns which is probably more effective. Its always reassuring to share a design with a respected, competitive and veteran team.
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
I counted 3 seconds. The thread title is misleading.
Though, that is still amazing. Personally, I think this is an amazing robot and a great feat of engineering. But I still need to see it with a moving target before I can really tell how well it will do at a comp. Good luck to your drivers. They have a great bot to drive, they just have to use plenty of finesse. |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
I think it will be difficult to accurately align on a goal from that distance.
Also, how long does it take to load balls into that configuration? Can you only hold 10 balls? Quote:

I'd be much more afraid of a robot that lines up, then can immediately shoot 10 in a second. A robot that has to line up, then go 1, 2, shoot 10, doesn't scare me one bit. |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
It appears as if there's no reason that, once they've loaded 10 balls into the machine, it can't be cocked and ready to fire.
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
WOW.
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
 wow...

We wanted to do a dumper this year. The downside to dumpers is that they can be slow. And slow is not good in a game where the goals move :) If you can't fill a trailer fast, they'll get away. Quote:
We can also pick them up from the ground. We'll have to wait and see how long it takes to collect 10 balls in a lunacy match. Our team is betting it will take quite a bit of time. I'm highly doubtful many teams will collect 20+ balls on average. |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Wow! Thats crazy good! Good Luck this year!
It looks like you will do well. |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
I think your design is absolutely brilliant.
My only question is: Can you chose to only shoot some of the balls you have loaded? It might seem like a dumb question, but there may or may not be a situation where you might not want to shoot all ten balls you have loaded. |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
With that many balls and so quickly, I dont see why that would be necessary to just shoot some.
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Woah.
Are you guys coming to Portland this year? That is one BEASTLY looking robot... |

Our students couldn't afford the travel this year. Our team has never had the funds to cover travel expenses. |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Finding money for travel is always hard. We traveled to Portland in 2007 and never went back. I really miss the food, the people, and the killer arena. Well hopefully we see our friends in Portland @ nationals.
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Portland's my favorite regional. It may not be as competitive as some others, but it's by far the most fun that I've been to.
Hope to see you guys at Champs, if we earn our way there! |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Congrats to Martin and the rest of Team 100, you guys have put out another incredible robot. Can't wait to see it in action at SVR and SAC.
PS. I hope your giving Steven some time to code that beast :p |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
(0.0) - pulls up the safety blanket which is the East Coast
(>.>) (<.<) - realizes East Coast has 103 and 25 coming over the play... Imma scurred. |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
How does this bad boy load up? is it equally quick or does it need some time to load and prep before pwning somebody

While you may be able to dodge them a few times, all it takes is one mistake by you to allow them the split second it takes to align and unleash all the balls. The fact that they can unload balls that quickly makes them a scary team, plain and simple. This doesnt just apply to team 100 (although this is a great bot), it applies to any team who has the ability to fill a trailer that quickly. Just my opinion. I'm sure there will be strategies against robots like this one, but I am just giving credit where it is due to a team who completed a very nice robot with a week or so remaining, and was willing to share their design pre-ship. Kudos to 100. |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
Great bot guys. We're gonna have fun at SAC :D
|
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
HELLOOOooo from the North East :D
Yep its me old MOE from TJ2, what a great bot you have come up with. How is the rest of it? if it is anything like the vid.oh boy you will have a great time this year. We Team 88 and your Team 100 teamed up back in the Day, in FL., maybe we will seeeee yaaaaaa in GA this year;) . Good luck and hope to see ya in GA.:yikes: MOE and Team 88 TJ2 oh yeah ???? OH YEAH !!!! TYE DYE for ever.... |
Re: 10 Balls. 1 Second. Team 100.
I love the design guys! Great work!
Looks pretty similar to ours except ours moves the wall behind the belt back instead of moving they conveyor. Ours also has a fast spinning shooter at the top. What kind of belt are you using? It looks like only two small black belts in the video, but I am guessing I am mistaken. What kind of velocities are you getting with the conveyor? |
