Wireless Networks(A/B/G/N)

Hey all,

I've checked in the rule book, but, it doesnt specify which channels/standards of wireless will be used at the competitions this year.

Does anyone know which will be used specifically?

Would we be able to fire up a wireless access point?

Thanks!

802.11n is used for the robots, they do not want us to set up wireless networks because of interference.

Kiet,

Wireless N will be used at the competitions.

FIRST as not indicated if they will allow wireless networks other than those on the field. I would expect that decision to come soon and we will be told in a future Team Update.

yes wireless networks do cause problems with the cRIO, at a meeting on of our programmers unintentionall connected (with his wireless card) to it, and broke communications...

Shadow,

You can correct that problem by enabling security on your router and gaming adapter. I'd do it anyway, just to be safe - you never know when someone will decide to have some "fun" and connect.
