Pneumatics........

Quick question, can we ONLY order actuators from Bimba? We just changed a design that will likely need a pneumatic actuator. However, getting one from Bimba this close to the end is not an option, but we can do a will call for McMaster.

So, can we use pneumatic cylinders from McMaster-Carr as long as it is 1-1/16" Bore and an 8 inch stroke (double acting)? If not, does anyone have an suggestion of how to tip a hopper without using an actuator?

Thanks! This is our first year, and we just started last week due to several delays.

stepper motors are pretty cool, and depending on if your platform is small or not you could order the HS 475HB servos for 18 bucks from servocity, because they're like the KOP servos on low scale steroids. as for pneumatics im not much help, our team isn't using them this year, and we barely knew what we were doing last year. hope this helps.

With a torque of 76 oz-in, those servos do not meet the requirements of <R51>B.

They do, however, meet the requirements of <R51-C>, which allows the FTC servos, which just so happen to be the HITEC HS-475HB.

Check Ebay.

If you were closer to Rochester I'd just give you one of our leftovers from last year/before.

Try a local team too- someone might have something.

I know I was able to order from our Bimba supplier in Syracuse and they had it on my desk on 2 days.... consider it part of your withholding allowance.
