May we remove an unused digital sidecar for weight reduction?
 
We want to take out some of the unused cRIO modules and the sidecar, can we do this?

The only requirement is that you have one digital side car, and its module, along with one analog input module set up to read the battery voltage. The rest of the slots in the cRIO can be emptied. Cover the open plugs with the black plastic covers that came in your KOP.

Yes, all but the one in slot #1.

They also recommend to use the spare port covers to keep debris out.

Don't forget, you also need one DSC for the RSL, which means that at least one other module must be in. (At least, if the 9201 doesn't have DSC capability.)
