Team 2854-10 balls in 1.5 seconds

Team 2854 is a rookie team from Evergreen Valley High School that 254 has been mentoring.

They have been working extremely hard on their robot in our lab all weekend and this is their finished product during it's first test run.

Amazing what a rookie team can do with a group of incredible mentors. Tell them congrats for us please.

What has been incredible and inspirational even to us is that the kids did it all by themselves. The team came into our lab, with a design in mind, working wooden prototype. The extent of 254's help was offering our machines and mechanical advice to fine tune things.

This is definitely a robot to watch out for in Davis. This team is very motivated. Good luck guys, it was a lot of fun working with you over the last few weeks.

Huge thanks to Team 254 and 1868 for helping us along the way. Tools, workspace, machines, mentoring, long nights, etc. We really appreciate it.

Special thanks to all the mentors, Krystine, EJ, Cory, Jakub, Kirk, Galen, and Travis, for bearing us into the long hours of night.

Our progress is documented along the way. We only had 13 work meetings to finish building the robot, and we would not have finished without the help.

It has been an incredible and rewarding experience. See you all at Davis.

From your blog...

At first, I thought that it was all over, but I soon realize, that it is just the beginning. I know we may not be the best team there, and we might not make it to the very end, but I still take pride in the work I’ve done, and i know that every minute of this project was time well spent……onto the competition!”
This quote is very inspiring. You guys should be proud. You have a great robot and an even better team. Good luck at Davis! There is no doubt that you'll be succesful there!
