If you look closely they I believe they made custom gearboxes... Haven't got a close look at this bot yet.

I will probably be the first to say that I am not scared...

Formidable? yes, Unbeatable? no.

I think this year will most likely show advantage to alliance teamwork and covering your teammates on the field.

This is a fantastic robot though; impressive in design, construction and general workmanship, I don't think we could ask for better competition at GTR. See you there.

I couldn't tell you either but your best visual clue is around 1:37 in the video. I am somewhat curious as well.

Great looking robot as always and Good Luck this season!

Do you guys shoot at one speed or does it vary depending on the distance?
Is the deflector/backboard on your shooter shooting the balls up, down, or parallel with the robot?

We used two RS-545's on our shooter, and two Fisher-Price motors on our intake. Both sets of motors were powered through custom transmissions using gears from the KOP FP Gearbox. Our launcher is currently using a fixed speed. The hood for the launcher can have it's angle varied, such that it's shooting at any of the trajectories you described.

Good eyes, but you missed something at 0:32.

The Solidworks shirt? Or the yellow shirt on the right in the second picture at that time?

Or the red shirt on the right just before 0:32?

Or maybe the prototype chassis?

It's 1114's entire superstructure sheetmetal all powdercoated.

I totally agree with you keaton. as long as you have a dud bot the dumpers will kick some butt. they will do teal well in qualifying. once people get comfy with deiving, they will try to keep out of the dumpers way. I also think people may be underestimating how easily you can get pinned

Re: pic/vid: Team 1114 - Simbot Panthro

putting this type of robot on a team with a powerful dumper is probably the best strategy i can think of.
imagine this :
a powerful shooter like 1114 or 217 slams a robot up against the wall, t-bone-ing them. A power dumper like 148, 254, 968, etc. brings up the rear with a trailer load of balls to dump in. The pinned robot has almost no where to go and is at least severely impeded. the turret of the shooter can make up for the odd angle of collision, and makes up for their scoring power by giving the dumper a clean shot. the 3rd robot can assist in scoring, or at least provide defense to the scoring robots.
so, all you shooters, and all you dumpers, just hope you can get your alternate on your alliance, team picks this year are looking to be a lot more strategic than just stacking points up. somewhat like 2007 when the lifter was essential to the game breaking win.

i just managed to get this out now because i was watching how 1114 was attacking the trailers in the video, good work guys!
